Ski Bike, Snow Bike or Snow Trike? What’s the Difference and Which One Should You Ride in Colorado

You’ve probably heard a bunch of different names thrown around. Ski bikes, snow bikes, snow trikes, SNOGO bikes. It gets confusing, but they’re all in the same family. The difference is really just in the design and what people like to call them.

A ski bike is the catch-all name. It looks kind of like a mountain bike but with skis instead of tires. You ride it standing up and use your legs to carve turns and absorb bumps. Pretty straightforward.

SNOGO bikes are a specific kind of ski bike and they’re what we rent. They’ve got three skis and handlebars, so they’re super stable and easy to learn on. SNOGOs are smooth, fast and fun, whether you’re a total beginner or you’ve been riding your whole life.

Snow bike is just another name for ski bike. Same thing. Some people say snow bike, others say ski bike. No real difference there.

Snow trike or ski bike trike usually means a three-ski setup with more balance. SNOGO fits into that category too, but it rides more like a bike and less like a stiff frame. Way more fun in my opinion.

At the end of the day, they’re all a fun way to ride the mountain. If you’re looking to try something different in Colorado this season, ski bikes and snow trikes are the move. We rent SNOGO bikes with delivery in Aspen, Vail and Beaver Creek, so all you have to do is pick a day and we’ll handle the rest.

Once you try it, you’ll get it. These things are seriously addictive.
