Aspen Highlands Village – Main Ski Area

Tips for Your Ski Bike Rental at Aspen Highlands
Make the most of your SNO-GO rental at Aspen Highlands with these practical tips! Whether you're new to snow biking at Aspen Highlands or an experienced rider, these pointers will help you ride with confidence and enjoy one of Colorado's most scenic mountains.
-
Wear the right gear. SNO-GOs require snowboard boots—ski boots are not compatible. Wear waterproof winter clothing, insulated gloves, goggles, and a properly fitted helmet.
-
Always wear your leash. Before every run, attach the SNO-GO leash to your wrist. This prevents the bike from sliding away if you fall and is required for your safety.
-
Give yourself extra space on the chairlift. Your SNO-GO counts as a person, so don't load a full chair. On a 4-person chair, ride with no more than two other people, especially while you're learning.
-
Keep your weight over the front ski. The biggest beginner mistake is leaning back. Lean your chest over the handlebars and put plenty of weight on the front ski for better steering and control.
-
Tilt the handlebars—don't turn them. SNO-GOs carve by tilting the handlebars, not by steering them like a bicycle. Exaggerate the lean so your ski edges stay aligned through the turn and help prevent the front ski from catching.
-
Stay low and ride aggressively. Keep your knees bent, elbows bent, and your center of gravity low. A low, athletic stance gives you much better balance and control than standing upright.
-
Start on Exhibition. If it's your first time riding a SNO-GO at Aspen Highlands, take a few laps on Exhibition before exploring the rest of the mountain. It's the perfect place to build confidence before moving onto longer runs.
-
Take a break at Merry-Go-Round. Stop for lunch at the Merry-Go-Round Restaurant before heading back out to explore the mountain.
By following these tips, you'll be ready to explore Aspen Highlands with confidence. Book your SNO-GO rental at Aspen Highlands today and experience one of Colorado's most beautiful mountains from a whole new perspective.

Tips for Bringing Your
Own SNO-GO to Aspen Highlands
-
Drop off your SNO-GO before parking. If you're parking at Aspen Highlands, unload your SNO-GO near the Aspen Highlands Base Village before parking. This saves you from carrying your ski bike through the parking lot. Do not leave your vehicle unattended—drop off the bike, then return to park.
-
Bring a bike lock. Lock your SNO-GO to the ski racks while you're inside the lodge or taking a break.
-
Riding multiple days? Lock your SNO-GO up overnight. Leave your ski bike securely locked at Aspen Highlands so you don't have to transport it back and forth each day.
-
Always lock it to a ski rack on pavement. Never lock your SNO-GO in the snow. It interferes with resort operations and can create issues with mountain staff. Always use a ski rack located on pavement.
-
Check every bolt before riding. Pay close attention to the control arm bolts and center axle bolt. Loose bolts can eventually fail. We recommend using blue Loctite on all bolts to help prevent them from backing out.
-
Carry a compact tool kit. A small mountain bike multi-tool, Allen keys, stubby wrenches, and spare control arm bolts, pins, and hardware can save your day. A small frame bag or handlebar bag is a great way to keep everything with your SNO-GO.
